Adventurers Homeschool Assocation
We are families working together to make every phase of homeschooling a wonderful adventure
Who we are: An interdenominational Christian learning and sharing cooperative, serving homeschooling families and students. We are also:
What we do: Help meet the needs and challenges of homeschooling families by providing academic, enrichment, and social opportunities for their children, from high schoolers to babies. We also:
- a Christian, homeschool co-operative, serving the needs of families with high school students (and others)
- a modest-size group
- a family-style group with dads involved and lots of inter-family and inter-generational relating.
- not a school. We are homeschoolers taking advantage of being homeschoolers so we don’t have to approach learning the way schools do. Our classes are based on the needs and interests of our families and students. What classes would you like to see? (Oh, and yes, we do use some textbooks.)
- a 501(c)(3) non-profit
What we do: Help meet the needs and challenges of homeschooling families by providing academic, enrichment, and social opportunities for their children, from high schoolers to babies. We also:
- meet in two 12 week semesters.
- meet Thursday afternoons and evenings, from 1 to 8:45 p.m. Come the whole time or choose classes à la carte. Afternoons accommodate students of all ages; evenings are for high school and middle school students primarily.
- have some multi-age classes, student led clubs, adults participating as students, and unique learning opportunities (for example: Shakespearean Drama, European Travel, Caricature Drawing, Hands-on High School level Physics, Flag Football, Outdoor Cooking, “Party Politics”, an interactive American Government course, etc.).
- meet at Bethesda Bible Church, 1800 S Huron Street, Ypsilanti. Call 734-649-0797 (please do not call Bethesda)
- pray together. Each session opens with announcements and prayer led by a different family each week.
- build in time between classes for students to interact or toss a basketball, and for instructors to clean up, set up, or go overtime.
- currently have room for your whole family for the fall. Get your application in early to ensure your spot.
